Journalism is a catalyst. A spark for scrutiny, accountability, and change. We teach students the skills needed to uphold these values in the face of those who resist them.

Old School Catalyst would like to thank the Novo Collegian Alliance, NCF Freedom and the generous anonymous donors who stepped forward to help launch our nonprofit journalism education project. We are also gratefully indebted to a growing network of volunteers, who have offered much-needed legal, business and web-development support. The SEE Alliance has provided us with meeting and archival storage space, plus invaluable enthusiasm and moral support. As a 501(c)3 organization, they are also serving as our fiscal sponsor so that we can accept tax-deductible donations. Our $10,000 in combined start-up funding will go to filing fees, production costs and paying our writers. We have one (soon to be) salaried editor, a small team of experienced volunteer editors and a free-lance reporting staff of college students and recent alums. Look for details and how you can help in the first issue of our bi-weekly news magazine, Old School Catalyst, coming soon.
