Journalism is a catalyst. A spark for scrutiny, accountability, and change. We teach students and aspiring young reporters the skills needed to uphold these values in the face of those who resist them.
Our name, Old School Catalyst, recognizes journalism’s power and our founding team’s former student-driven newspaper.
Founded by students, a professor, and alumni of New College of Florida, the Old School Catalyst carries on that paper’s multi-decade legacy independent of the college.
Old School Catalyst is looking for new paid reporters! This opportunity extends to experienced student journalists as well as writers who are community-focused and eager to learn the basics of constructing a news story and participating in an active newsroom. If interested, please fill out our short application with the link below and we will be in touch with next steps.
